Plant Disease Management

This course educates students regarding the basic concepts of plant pathology and the management techniques used to reduce damage caused by plant diseases to an acceptable level. Each of the major groups of plant pathogenic organisms is discussed, with an emphasis on biology of the pathogens, disease diagnosis and sound disease management practices. The course emphasizes Integrated Pest Management utilizing environmentally sound techniques, including biological, genetic, cultural, physical, and chemical methods. Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of C in the following courses: AGRP 1125, BIOL 1107 and BIOL 1107L.
